Madea's Family Soul: BBQ Café & Grill was born from love — a son's promise to honor the woman who raised him. Named after our beloved Madea, this restaurant is a living tribute to her spirit, her kitchen, and the love she poured into everyone she fed.
When we cut the ribbon at our Grand Opening on 5419 W. Madison Street, right here on Chicago's West Side, it was more than the start of a business — it was a dream come true, dedicated to her. As her baby boy said that day: “This I dedicate to you, Madea. I love and miss you beyond words. Your baby boy did it again.”
We're just getting started, but our mission is simple: to serve food that tastes like home and to welcome every guest like family. From smoky BBQ and island jerk to soul food classics, every plate carries the flavor, the fire, and the love that Madea taught us.
